Professional Competencies
Evaluating one's professional growth across professional competencies is crucial to understanding of knowledge, skills, and areas improvement. This assessment is important in determining one's career path.
The American College Personnel Association [ACPA] and National Association of Student Personnel Administrators [NASPA] (2010) identified 10 competencies that apply to all student affairs practitioners, regardless of functional area.
In my time at BGSU I have had the opportunity to engage in both scholarly and employment pursuits that have helped me develop along these competency areas.
This section of my portfolio will highlight these experiences as well as artifacts that demonstrate my development in these competencies and how I use these to guide my work.
